Hi, I saw your details online, and wondered if you, or somebody you know,
would be interested in the following permanent position, based in New York
City.



Senior Devops Engineer



We are seeking a team player to join the infrastructure side of Tech,
sharing responsibility for growing, updating and maintaining our
infrastructure, adding and improving deployment and build capabilities, as
well as participating in desktop support with the company at large, when
required.



This position  will work with the engineering team as part of the
infrastructure team to keep our software flowing from concept through
operations and our data flowing from our shoppers to our customers and
partners.



Requirements for the position

-Linux shell skills - and of automation with scripting. You know when, and
why, to use a 10 line shell  script or a python/perl/ruby script with
modules.

-Development team experience - working closely with development teams while
also managing production systems.

-Monitoring, configuration management and deployments - diverse experience
in monitoring, trending, configuration and deployment  management with
software like nagios, new relic, graphite, puppet and friends.

-CI/CD - will have achieved legit continuous integration and deployment in
past gigs, with metaphorical battle scars to relate.

-Cloud experience - we're currently migrating into AWS from the Rackspace
cloud, the ideal candidate will have some experience with AWS.

-Software engineering savvy - will have knowledge and experience of
production environments featuring Python, Ruby or Enterprise  Java, this is
not a software engineering position, but understanding the moving pieces is
key.



Excellent candidates will also have

-PostgreSQL - specifically demonstrable experience in various replication
strategies and can amaze band astound with tales of  exciting and painful
lessons learned.

-Git Repo management experience.

-Desktop support experience across OS X, Windows and Ubuntu.

-Experience working with vendors such as GoodData, Google Apps, Atlassian
and a plethora of monitoring and instrumentation providers.
