TITLE: Operations Engineer (Linux, EC2, Chef/Puppet)
LOCATION: Atlanta (Buckhead)
DURATION: Contract To Hire

Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled professional to automate and support the delivery of one or more applications into various environments used throughout the software development life cycle. This includes production operations support and 24x7 monitoring. Will also develop and support tools used to manage the deployment and monitoring of the application.
Responsibilities:
*         Support cloud based infrastructure in Amazon Web Services and/or private resources
*         Development of Chef cookbooks for system and application deployment
*         Development of CloudFormation templates to deploy application environments
*         Development monitoring health checks to collect metrics for troubleshooting and analysis
*         Development of tools needed to support, monitor and deploy the application
*         Other duties as assigned
Education:
Bachelor of Computer Science or related technical experience
Extensive experience with:
Systems: Linux (CentOS preferred) administration
Amazon Web Services: EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Route53, CloudFormation, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB
Programming Languages: preferably ruby, but also python or perl
Configuration Management Tools: Chef and/or Puppet
Shell Scripting: bash
Continuous Integration Tools: Jenkins/Hudson
Build Automation Tools: ant and maven
Version Control Systems: Git and/or Subversion
Packaging Tools: Mock/rpmbuild
Some experience with:
Apache, Ruby on Rails Applications, Java Applications, Tomcat, MySQL
Fundamental understanding of:
DNS, Networking, Web Services, Web Protocols, Monitoring Systems, Software Development Practices

DURATION: PERM
TRAVEL: less than 50%
DUTIES
* Install/interface complex tech.solns, interact w/customers and PM's, coordinate between dvpt, manage quality issues with products, manage / implement tech.interfaces.
Required Skills:
* Unix/Solaris
* Linux (preferably RedHat)
* Sun Enterprise and Intel based Hardware
* Oracle DB-Admin skills, Cluster / Backup, Recv.Mgr*Apache*Tomcat*Java Apps, Networking, report writing
Preferred: Mobile/Telecom projects/industry experience

Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar technical area.
