REDHAT SYSTEMS ADMIN/ENGINEER - NORCROSS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide Linux and ESX system administration support in a high availability, 24x7x365 environment.
* Perform troubleshooting, resolution and problem analysis.
* Approve and execute Change Control requests for hardware, OS and applications.
* Monitor alerting systems and servers.
* Provide and receive cross training from immediate support team.
* Develop custom reports to meet the business needs.
EDUCATION
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent job related experience.
Job Related Experience
* Exposure to portfolio management, planning or optimization solutions
* Minimum 7-10 years IT experience supporting Linux platforms to include but not limited to the following: patching, OS troubleshooting, provisioning of new systems, in-depth understanding of SAN/NFS, performance tuning, and capacity analysis.
* Working knowledge of networking protocols and components including TCP/IP, DNS
* Working experience with supporting highly available infrastructure solutions using VMware Vsphere (ESX, VCenter, VMotion, HA, DRS, Converter)
* Apache
* WebLogic
* JBOSS
* Scripting
Other Qualifications:
* Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills.
* Able to adapt to change in deadlines and changes in the nature of assignments.
* Capable of clear and direct communication with peers and management
* Ability to navigate a large organization and to influence others beyond their direct authority
* Able to manage assignments and meet deadlines with minimal supervision, while recognizing the need for a high degree of accuracy and quality
* VMware Certified Professional
* Experience with EMC shared storage solutions (Symmetrix, CLARiiON, Celerra)
LINUX ADMIN - NORCROSS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* Minimum 3 years customer-facing experience such as, phone-based technical support in a complex custom application/customer support environment with Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in a discipline related to the product technology - usually computer engineering or computer science Or
* Minimum 7 years customer-facing experience such as, phone-based technical support in a complex custom application/customer support environment with high school education
* Minimum 3 years basic Windows Server 2003/2008, XP/Vista, 7 operating systems experience
* Experience with Linux operating systems using command line interface
* Experience with Apache Web Server
* Experience with Shell scripting
* Experience with XML
* Experience with PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor
* Experience with SOAP
* Experience with VMware, MS Virtual Server, Sun VirtualBox
* Experience troubleshooting PostgreSQL databases
* Experience troubleshooting SQL databases
* Experience troubleshooting Windows Internet Information Services (IIS)
* Experience troubleshooting software written in the 'C' programming language
* Experience reviewing Windows event logs
* Experience using command line syntax for diagnostics and configuration
* Knowledge of e-mail and groupware products such as Outlook and Exchange
* Must be willing to submit to a government security clearance check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* BS/BA degree in a technical field
* Proficient PC testing and troubleshooting skills (Network Trace, Network Monitor, etc), including asking probing questions to identify, characterize and isolate a problem, and suggest a work-around
* Proven troubleshooting and problem solving skills
* Knowledge of Lotus Notes
* Experience testing software
* Experience troubleshooting software written in the Java programming language
