Laboratroy Tester in Atlanta, GA.*

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review of findings from systematic reviews for clinical laboratory
quality improvement studies to assess strength and quality ratings of
evidence.
• Oversee the collection, identification, and evaluation of unpublished
quality improvement study data relevant to current systematic review topics.
• Collaborate with team to identify new topic areas for practice
effectiveness in laboratory medicine through environmental scans of
healthcare databases and library searches of scientific literature.
• Develop and implement approaches to enhance the dissemination, uptake and
evaluation of evidence based laboratory best practice recommendations
formulated by the team.
• Develop and implement approaches to enhance laboratory quality
improvement collaborations and integration with strategies for outreach to
professional laboratory organizations.
• Identify strategies for outreach to inform laboratory scientists, medical
educators and other healthcare professionals about the design, organization
and performance of laboratory quality improvement studies.
• Actively contribute insights and perspectives, based on knowledge of the
subject matter and experience, to group discussions with team members,
working groups, and expert panels consisting of staff, external partners,
laboratory and clinical experts, as well as other contractors.  Discussions
may be face-to-face or conference calls.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Experience in performing and monitoring medical laboratory testing
• Experience in conducting and critically reviewing  quality improvement
studies in laboratory practices
• Experience in health services research methods such as systematic reviews
of evidence for effectiveness of medical or laboratory practices

EXPECTED DELIVERABLES:
• Prepare in-depth written analysis and scientific report findings for team
and managers, professional audiences, policy makers and the general public.
• Develop on-line tutorial modules associated with educating laboratory
professionals in the use of systematic review data, evidence-based practice
recommendations, and quality improvement study design to adopt and
implement best laboratory practices.
• Prepare written and online educational materials related to laboratory
best practice recommendations including the use of systematic review data,
evidence-based practice recommendations, and quality improvement study
design..
