The position is a customer support engineering role that requires strong
experience with Linux and IP networking.  Knowledge of OpenWRT would be
a plus.

For the expansion of our North American Support Team we are currently
looking to fill the position of:

 

SYSTEM ENGINEER

Responsibilities

The North America Sales Team consists of a group of very dedicated sales
and technical support personnel for our

North American customers. The North America Team is the first team in
the world to launch the Option CloudGate

M2M Gateway product. As the first geography to launch the product, North
America will lead the rest of the

company in forming partner alliances, defining the best opportunities
for the product, and providing a model for

other geographies to emulate. As a System Engineer, you would be
responsible for supporting customers in

resolving their technical issues with the CloudGate. You will also
support hardware and software partners that are

developing their own solutions for use with the CloudGate. The position
requires collaboration internationally with

our technical and product management teams in Europe as well as locally
with sales and support colleagues in

North America. This position reports to the Head of Sales, U.S. The
tasks will consist primarily of:

* Technical Support for Option customers in North America

o Support hardware and software issue problem determination and
resolution for CloudGate

M2M Gateway product and other assigned products.

o Find work around solutions for issues that provide short term relief
for the customer until a

longer term resolution can be implemented.

o Work with Option sales team to define issue prioritization

o Respond to customers technical questions in a timely manner

o Responsible for providing Release notes, procedures, manuals, and
reports as required

o Ensure proper setup and configuration for desired application

o Bug tracking and resolution

o Use logging tools to collect data necessary for root cause analysis of
issues

o Apply and verify effectiveness of fixes made to firmware, drivers, and
applications

o Onsite analysis and follow up of complex technical problems in close
cooperation with Option

Engineering and external suppliers

* Technical support for software and hardware development community

o Support key software and hardware partners in integrating their
solutions into the CloudGate device

o Assist software partners in packaging and setting for distribution
their solutions

o Moderate and answer questions on the developer community message board

* General

o Field testing, IOT and use of protocol simulators

o Clear and correct reporting on the technical status of the projects

o Occasionally prepare and conduct training for customers and local
representatives for first line support

* Other duties as assigned

* Travel requirements of < 25%
