Senior Linux Administrator


Job Purpose: 

Our client is seeking a motivated self-starting Senior Linux Engineer to
design, implement, troubleshoot, analyze, and maintain systems in a
challenging and rewarding environment. The Linux Engineer will be expected
to perform complex implementation tasks and technology assessment and
recommend product and supplier selection, execute requirements analysis and
develop advanced telecommunications hardware/software solutions to meet
business requirements, coordinate and review implementations projects to
ensure compliance with the business architecture, and review and recommend
the implementation of network management and monitoring tools, and perform
the maintenance and administration of enterprise level network devices,
during standard business hours as well as after-hours support.

**Ability to obtain DoD level security clearance is a must** Must be a US
Citizen

Skills/Qualifications: 

. Must have at least 5+ years of experience administering Linux systems in a
production capacity

. 3 years experience with VMware Virtualization MUST Have

. Proven experience with Enterprise environments MUST 

. Experience with configuring and supporting Linux systems

. Scripting skills with an administrative language, BASH, Perl, Shell, or
Python~  Must have scripting skills! 

. Configuration and maintenance of common applications such as Apache,
MySQL, NFS, NTP, SSH, DNS, and SNMP some ability with these

. Apache HTTP server and J2EE application server JBoss experience OR Tomcat
or WebObjects 

. Administration of Virtualized infrastructure for non-production/production
environments

. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills MUST

. Proven ability to work in a team environment

. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks within a dynamic
environment

. Keen attention to detail, self-motivation, and self-directedness

. Professional manner when dealing with customers

. Availability for after-hours work on a periodic basis

. Continued awareness of developing and emerging technologies with a
willingness and ability to learn new technologies

Preferred qualifications:

. BS Computer Science or related field nice to have

Oracle OVM (Oracle Virtual Machine) Nice to have 

. Middle-Tier Administration as well as Application Support and deployment

. Previous experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) -Nice to have 

. Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking- nice to have

. Previous DoD clearance preferred, must be capable of obtaining DoD
clearance

. Familiarity with a software distribution (RedHat satellite) a plus

. Programming experience preferred

. Ability to work autonomously and with a diverse team
