PEER 1 Hosting is seeking a Technical Account Manager (Linux) to serve
as the customer escalation point and champion during crisis
situations. Our TAMs handle direct customer inquiries and performs
system administration duties and are responsible for working ticket
queues with our customers. A valued position in our company, we need a
serious Linux guru to fill this role. The Technical Account Manager
works closely with PEER 1 clients’ IT staff to integrate their
operations with our own.  The TAM partners with our clients to place
emphasis on issue prevention rather than resolution.



Responsibilities

·         Supports Unix/Linux and/or Microsoft based machines in a
large multi-domain environment.

·         Troubleshoots or crisis-manages customer issues.

·         Maintains operating systems on customer servers.

·         Installs and maintains production software on customer servers.

·         Maintains client specific documentation that is used by our
staff when responding to issues.

·         Works with customers on new products.

·         Basic account management (maintaining customer records,
basic project management).

·         Ensures high customer satisfaction during the installation
and support process.

·         To keep current with new and developing technologies,
suggesting ideas where the company are able to support new services.

·         Work within SLA’s and drive to get these down, providing
world class services to clients.





Requirements

·         Solid understanding of server/pc hardware.

·         Able to configure Windows, FreeBSD, Solaris, and/or various Linux O/S.

·         Expert knowledge of UNIX commands/utilities including but
not limited to Apache or IIS, FTP, SMTP, POP, IMAP.

·         Familiarity with most basic system administration tools and processes.

·         Working knowledge of common TCP/IP protocols such as telnet,
ssh, ftp, smtp.

·         Ability to troubleshoot complex problems for common TCP/IP
protocols such as telnet, ssh, ftp, smtp, and named.

·         Ability to troubleshoot complex application-level problems
independently.

·         Ability to work effectively with internal departmental
members and peers from other departments.

·         Must demonstrate the capacity and desire for continued,
independent learning.

·         Excellent organization and follow-up skills.

·         Excellent customer relation and communication skills

·         Must love to talk to customers and help them define business needs.

·         Ability to manage multiple activities/projects.

·         Willingness to work with members or group to achieve common goal.

·         Sense of fun and play and enjoy a fast paced dynamic environment.

·         This position is available in Atlanta, GA; San Antonio, TX;
and Vancouver, BC.
