Senior Systems Integrator/Engineer

Duluth, Georgia



This is an exciting opportunity in the Interactive Digital TV Industry working with hardware and software integration platforms for interactive digital TV applications. The SI/SE person provides systems integration and engineering services in support of Java development, Quality Assurance engineers and a broad list of Video Customers worldwide.  Includes installation, integration, system administration, and trouble-shooting of software, hardware, network, and cable infrastructure components for interactive products along with some required third-party vendors.



REPORTS TO: Manager of MediaPath Integration



REQUIRED SKILLS:

*        Strong problem solving skills

*        Minimum of 7 Years' Experience as a Systems Integrator and/or System Engineer in a UNIX/Linux           Environment

*        Experience Installing and Trouble-shooting UNIX/Linux Software and Operating System           Components such as Java, Apache, Glassfish, JBoss.

*        In depth knowledge of UNIX/Linux Shell Scripting Languages such as BASH, PERL, PYTHON, etc.

*        Advanced knowledge of UNIX/Linux system level tools used to troubleshoot FTP,  SSH, DNS,  TCP           Networking, Disks layout and recovery, Disk Raid, Memory, CPU Load,  etc..



*        Java build environment knowledge using some or all the following; ANT, Buckminster, Component           cqueries, writing xml for Buckminster.

*        Experience using Eclipse

*        Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 5 or 6) or SUSE Linux Enterprise (SLES 10 or 11)

*        Strong Interpersonal and Communications Skills

*        Effective Customer Communication Skills Relative to the Application of Technical Products and           Business Issues

DESIRED SKILLS:

*        Experience with a test-centric, continuous integration development process

*        Knowledge of Java applications in terms of how they work and troubleshooting

*        Jumpstart and/or Kickstart technology

*        Agile software development processes

*        Continuous build and integration tools such as Maven or Hudson

*        Oracle experience with basic SQL Knowledge a plus.

*        Virtualization and cloud experience with KVM, VMware, Xen etc...

*        Software packaging such as RPM, Conary, or Solaris packaging
