[ALE-jobs] UNIX/Linux Administratror Needed

No agencies please.

We have large Oracle DBs on both HP-UX and RHEL but most of the application and web tier systems are now RHEL5 or RHEL6 with more being migrated over time. We have a smattering of small MySQL and some large Postgresql DBs as well. There is a separate team of DBAs so direct DB work isn’t necessary.

UNIX/Linux admins are responsible for OS/hardware support of the HP-UX systems and the Dell PowerEdge systems that run RHEL. Most of the job is standard UNIX/Linux systems administration and mostly on RHEL as the HP-UX systems don’t change much. Additionally we are responsible for the backup solution (NetBackup 7.1 using Quantum tape library as well as Data Domain and Quantum DXi deduplication units). We are also responsible DNS administration for the company’s internet domains on BIND 9.x (internal DNS is done by Windows admins on Windows). We also manage the disk storage solutions which is mostly on Hitachi VSP now but we do still have a couple of EMC Clariion arrays as well as Cisco SAN switches. The description below mentions other networking switches etc… but we have a separate networking team so in depth knowledge of that isn’t a requirement.

The person hired would be working directly with me and reporting to the manager listed below. Feel free to send any (non-agency) questions to me.
