Job Overview:
Responsible for supporting OS and hardware of Linux / UNIX servers and desktops and the applications running on them. This person will share responsibility for supporting primarily non-production (i.e., development, test, training, etc.) and occasionally production Linux / UNIX servers to ensure uptime, remedy problems, and recommend solutions.

Major Responsibilities:
* Build and manage internal (development, test, training) environments.
* Determine the root cause(s) behind a variety of computational issues.
* Recommend, implement, test and troubleshoot highly available deployments.
* Monitoring applications and hosts to ensure uptime.
* Occasional 24x7 on-call support.

Required Competencies:

* Exposure to messaging technologies and enterprise service bus, in particular ActiveMQ and Mule, are helpful

Qualifications:
* 3+ years in Information Technology with a focus on Linux / UNIX operating system and Java application support
Education Requirement:
* RedHat certifications preferred; other UNIX certifications considered


2 PERM DIRECT HIRE SR. SYSTEM ENGINEERS

Senior Systems Engineer
Atlanta, GA (Perimeter)

The purpose of the position is to ensure the on-time and under budget delivery and acceptance of company products sold and installation of service applications at our North American Customers. The role is focused on technically complex projects where technical skills will be utilized. Another key aspect of the role is to provide senior technical advice to regional team members.

The territory covered by this position will be the North American market.  Primary job responsibilities will be in this area but the position will be a shared resource for all of the Americas market and could be utilized as a resource in other countries.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* To utilize senior engineering skills to install and interface highly complex technical solutions within customer's mobile telecom networks.
* To work in close cooperation with company customers and project managers to plan, implement and accept products in the Americas region.
* To oversee and schedule junior engineering resources to ensure timely deliveries.
* Technical project management of international projects including pre sales support, resources coordination, managing the technical aspects of the installation and handover to company Customer Support as well as follow-up.
* To train junior engineers and customers on complex solutions.
* To coordinate between Software Development based in Europe to ensure delivery of solutions for customers in the Americas.
* To follow up with Software Development and manage any quality or defect issues with company products.
* To manage and implement all technical interfaces with company products. This includes mobile operator's billing systems, provisioning systems, SMS-Cs, SIM cards and handsets.
* To transition all completed projects to Global Customer Services Support and Managed Service Operations with all supporting documentation.
* Acceptance testing with the customer
* Resolve technical issues in co-ordination with head office staff under time pressure from customer and project.
* Assist in the specification and estimation of projects where appropriate for bid work.
* Moderate travelling involved in role (< 50% of time)
* The job may require work outside normal business hours.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Required Skills and Experience:
* Unix/Solaris
* Linux (preferably RedHat)
* Sun Enterprise and Intel based Hardware
* Advanced Oracle DB-Admin skills, Cluster and Backup solutions, Recovery   Manager, Apache, Tomcat, Java Applications, Networking (TCP/IP, routers, firewalls) incl. the ability to troubleshoot in network environments.
* Able to write reports and be proficient in technical dealings with customers on the phone and in meetings.
* Ability to work across cultures.
* Able to work in a stressful environment on customer sites.
* Analytical logical thinking
* 5+ years technical experience
* Working experience with software design and development
* Bachelor's degree in computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar technical area.
* English (fluent written and spoken)

Desirable:
* GSM telecoms technology standard
* Knowledge of IT and/or telecom technologies and strategies
* Knowledge of OTA platforms
* Veritas Volume Manager and Cluster skills, Windows Server 2007, C7/SS7 signaling, SIM cards and SMS-C protocols.
* ITIL knowledge
DIRECT HIRE - REDHAT ADMINISTRATOR
Alpharetta, GA
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
*         Maintenance of hardware/software configurations for RedHat enterprise systems
*         Build, implement and maintain system-level software packages such as OS, Clustering, disk, file management, backup, web applications, DNS, LDAP
*         Configure and troubleshoot applications whether third party systems as well as in-house developed applications
*         Develop, install and maintain utility programs/shell scripts to manage application start, stop, end-of-day, monitoring and failure/recovery
*         Gather requirements and implement changes by following processes
*         Support all aspects of project life cycle through ITIL based Configuration, Change, Service, Incident and Problem management
*         Participate in on-call rotation for support of systems and occasionally work alternate shift/weekend

Education and Experience Requirements
*         3-5 years relevant experience as a Linux Network/Systems administrator
*         Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
*         Ability to find solutions independently
*         Experience with TCP/IP networking, knowledge of tcpdump
*         Experience troubleshooting performance problems
*         Experience with shell scripting (ksh, csh, bash, Perl, Ruby, ssh)
*         Experience and understanding of reporting protocols and monitoring tools (syslog, snmp, ntop, iftop,etc)
*         Superior problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to triage and execute tasks independently with minimal need for supervision
*         Ability to work under varying degrees of pressure and uncertainty
*         Ability to work flexible hours and support night or weekend work as needed



Additional Experience


*         Vendor certifications a plus
*         Experience with SANs (Storage Area Networks) across Linux/Unix is a plus
*         Experience with Oracle DB across Linux/Unix is a plus
*         Experience with VMware VSphere is a plus
*         Experience supporting Windows Server 2008 operating system is a plus
*         Experience supporting Cisco Firewalls and F5 Network Load Balancers is a plus
