This is one of the most cutting edge Social Media start-ups in the country.
They are booming and flush with Venture Cap and opportunity. With client's
like McDonald's and Apple it's a cant miss. I would love to discuss it with
you. Also, please send your resume to abrookins at sysdevit.com if interested.
We also offer a 1000 dollar referral fee if we hire someone you refer.
Regards,
Adam
Key Areas and Responsibilities
Client is looking for a admin who knows their way around a few of the major
Unix variants. We use a combination of Centos and Solaris, with the
occasional Gentoo, Ubuntu or OSX server here or there. Expect to work
directly with high level developers on projects and work to blur the lines
between traditional system operations and developers. You should have
proficiency in some sort of development language like Ruby or PHP.
Client does lots of work with databases and stores like MySQL, Memcached,
MongoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL. Additional experience with data
architecture, capacity planning, and/or data modeling would most likely get
our complete attention.
Client has its own datacenter with lots of servers and network equipment, so
knowing your way around Cisco IOS or an F5 BigIP is a plus. You should not
be scared of the terms Kickstart, Jumpstart, and Cobbler. Knowledge of shell
scripting is a must, as well as an eagerness to automate wherever and
whenever the possibility arises. Client does work in the cloud also, so
knowledge of AWS cloud tech and automation tools like Chef, Puppet, and
Rightscale are highly prized.
