We're looking for NOC Technicians at LodgeNet. It's a FreeBSD 
environment, but applicants with only Linux experience are also very 
welcome.
The NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER in Atlanta, GA is seeking qualified 
candidates for the position of Network Operations Center Technician. 
This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
NOC specialists are expected to work individually and in team settings 
to directly interface with customers to remotely identify, diagnose and 
resolve network status and problems. Monitor bandwidth usage, system 
response times and provide root cause analysis of potential hardware or 
software faults. Demonstrate a good balance of technical acumen and 
customer support skills. Primarily ensures that system alerts and other 
failure conditions are acted upon and resolved or escalated further for 
resolution. The position may involve working day, mid or night shifts. 
All shifts require some weekend and holiday duties to ensure 365 day 
coverage with differential pay available for some responsibilities 
and/or shifts.
Candidates considered qualified for the position will possess the 
following minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
     * High school graduate or equivalent and two year post secondary 
education related to electronics, networking, telecommunications, 
computer science, along with four (4) years experience in remote 
technical support of server and network solutions; an equivalent 
combination of related education and /or work experience also qualifies
     * In depth knowledge of Cisco, HP, or similar routers, switches, 
APs, OSI model, administration, routing and wireless protocols is required
     * Familiarity with Unix scripting preferred, FreeBSD, command line 
utilities and UNIX administration is essential
     * CCNA/other Cisco network certifications preferred
     * Network/server monitoring experience leveraging applications such 
as Solarwinds, NetCool,
       What’s Up Gold, Nagios, Avalanche, etc. is preferred
     * Experience in converged network support is preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
     * Excellent verbal and written communication skills
     * Must be a proficient at multitasking with the ability to 
prioritize and complete projects with
       minimum supervision
