PLATFORM ADMIN AND DEVELOPER

The position is in the Ericsson Platform Architecture Group, located in Duluth, GA. The platform group is responsible for the development and support of a shared common platform used across 12 products.  The platform consists of servers, blade servers, shared storage, NAS, SUSE, and third party components.  We are looking to leverage such technology as virtualization and a model based deployment architecture to scale our delivery and simplify support.  We are responsible for internal common projects to be integrated in our platform such as backup/restore, SNMP monitoring, configuration management, upgrade/rollback, Oracle, and HA solutions. 

Reports to manager of Platform Architecture
Responsibilities include:
. The development and implementation of solution based on the design documents created from our Senior Platform Architecture 
. Setup and configuration of hardware for labs
. Automation of manual processes related to the installation, configuration, and upgrade of third party components
. Evaluation of new hardware such as servers, storage, network switches, and load balancers
. 4th tier escalations for issues related to the common platform
. Work with product system integrators and QA to resolve bugs
. Create and maintain of developer and user documentation

Required Skills:
. Experience with Linux operating systems
. Shell scripting languages
. Experience with one scripting languages such as perl, python, or ruby
. Bachelor degree in computer science or related work experience
. General knowledge of software development
. Hardware and software trouble shooting skills
. Understanding of Source Code Control

Desired Skills:
. SUSE
. ksh or bash
. python
. Abilit to read Java and C source code
. VISIO
. Build tools including maven and hudson
. CVS and GIT source code control
. Kickstart installation
. Virtualization experience with Xen, KVM, or VMWare
