[mirror-admin] mirroring containers?

Apart from the possible issue of having many (tiny) files, I'd be happy
to mirror the data. Small files tend to put more load on the servers
than grouping those in fewer bigger files.

(I think git uses packed files to avoid this or at least a related issue
when cloning a repository)
