[mirror-admin] Fedora 15, Fedora 17 alpha and beta packages on fedora-linux-releases modules

We recommend 1TB of disk if you want to be a public mirror of everything. We strive to stay below that limit, but we don't strive to stay below 500GB at all times. We move content to archive and delete old alpha/beta releases in preparation for the next release, but not immediately.

You are welcome to exclude any directories you wish (e.g. debug/ is a great candidate to exclude).

Thanks,
Matt

Subject: Fedora 15, Fedora 17 alpha and beta packages on fedora-linux-releases modules

Dear admins,

Hi!

I have noticed that on the mirror server, the packages for Fedora 15 is still available for rsync. As far as I know, Fedora 15 has reach End of Life. May I know how long does it takes to move a release to archive?

At the same time, Fedora 17 has been released to public and I am curious why Fedora 17 alpha and fedora 17 beta is still available under the test folder.

I am currently counting on the disk space needed to mirror Fedora without adding excludes option to rsync. As for now, I only have a 500GB hard disk and I wanted to mirror fedora-linux-releases and fedora-linux-updates. From the rsync dry-run, it is definitely not enough space for me to mirror these both modules. Any suggestions on what can be done to sync the packages are welcome.

Thank you and have a nice day!
