Correct. We see:

ftp:/pub/fedora/linux/development# du -hsx 17
93G     17
ftp:/pub/fedora/linux/development# du -hsx rawhide/
99G     rawhide/

ftp:/pub/fedora/linux/development# du -hsx 17 rawhide/
93G     17
13G     rawhide/

Maybe running rsync with hard link support helps? :)
