When I had RAID issues I had to join the kernel RAID mailing list since 
it's all handled by the kernel. I don't think TOO much has changed since 
FC3. The tools maybe, but the underlying structure kernel wise is the same.

You should be able to put those drives in a new machine and try and 
rebuild. Just a guess.
