It took me about 2 hours of struggle. I got sshd(8) to answer pretty easily, but it wouldn't believe my password. And yeh, I double-checked caps lock and retried several times. The same password worked fine to sudo(8) on the internal terminal. The Net of 10,000 Lies didn't mention this trouble anywhere in the plethora of howtos available.<br>

Cue a bunch of fiddling with /etc/ssh/sshd_config on the internal terminal, which **majorly** sucks ( NO CTRL KEY!! ). I finally changed the "deck" user's password to one without punctuation or special characters. For a wonder that did the trick. I haven't seen this behavior on other sshd(8)s. I guess Valve is just Special.<br>
