I've installed putty and filezilla from the Ubuntu repos on a local <br>
Lubuntu machine, and I can connect to this machine with both of those. <br>
Assuming that Mint uses the same packages (his version of Mint is based <br>
on Ubuntu 24.04), that would seem to rule out a cipher problem.<br>
<br>
I may try to convince him to install VSCode, as VSCode with the Remote - <br>
SSH extension uses the standard ssh command, so it should work.<br>
<br>
I'm still puzzled why this isn't working, particularly since it says <br>
it's an invalid user, but the username looks correct in the logs.<br>
