[ale] Plain Text Accounting, hopefully not too OT

Hopefully not OT - looks like some(?) Linux distributions are
including this, or at least have been.

I'd very much like to escape Quickbooks' evil clutches.

GNUCash might fit the bill but I need "class" support &
would also need to export/convert/import its file(s) (.qbw)
so I can have histories & do reporting. GNUCash does neither.

I came across Plain Text Accounting
(https://plaintextaccounting.org/) & it looks intriguing.

Any ALErs with any experience(s)?

I would be Just Fine with something CLI/text based & if this
"worked" it'd hopefully be a nice escape from the cloud-bs
pressure/cost/lock-in/data-mining horrors to which essentially
all the various accounting/bookkeeping applications have
migrated & are forcing onto "us".
