I've bought several over the years on Amazon... and bought ones where it explicitly says that it works with linux.... and they worked nicely.
You may be interested in speed or other features... I did't care about that all I wanted it to do was to work.
A very long time ago, I bought a wifi usb adapter with rabbit ears... and that didnt make and difference... other than just getting in the way and being a nusance.
I was never concerned about them offering encryption... because I had my own VPN. If you don't have a VPN then, that may be an issue, but I'd urge you to get a VPN. Proton offers a free VPN... and you can choose serves in Switzerland where the privacy laws are for real... if you need that level of security.
And, on amazon, if it doesn't work... or even if you don't like it, you can return it.
