Yeah, when I doubled the RAM in my current laptop (a 3.5-year-old Lenovo 
T495), it noticably hurt suspend time.  But even with its old battery, 
it still easily holds out a day when suspened.

(I've only ever run Linux on this thing, so I don't know how that 
compares to performance under $other_os.  But every bit of hardware, 
including the fingerprint reader and cellular modem, works without 
proprietary drivers, and Lenovo also pushes all firmware updates via 
lvfs/fwupd too!)
