openSUSE Leap is always my go-to for about everything. It has the same lifecycle as SLES, so you get a good long lifecycle and a stable OS.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [ale] Good Linux Distro for laptop or desktop?
All,
What would be a good Distro with long term support for both my
new laptop and new desktop?
I usually run Slackware on my laptops. I need WiFi support for
the laptop, and ability to run Kaffeine to watch movie DVDs on
both. I like that Slackware has inetd and not that new @$%@.
Don't care for Debian or Mint.
Thanks,
Bob
