HP printers are very well supported using multiple methods on every distro.
Plain cups will drive 95%+ of all HP printers. Add the hplip tool and you
can do print to fax and scanning with the all in one models. The laser
printers work perfectly out of the box. Inkjet are mostly perfect. Some
benefit from the gutenprint tool to get max resolutions and paper use.
