All,

A while back I posted that Gwinnett Tech could host a new ALE-NE. Here's
the status:
I've now been set up as an admin on the Meetup and author on the Wordpress
sites.

The paperwork has been submitted to Gwinnett Tech. We're now in "waiting
game" mode until that's approved.

There were some tradeoffs. A "student-only" Linux organization would be
approved a lot faster and easier, but would have some drawbacks in my
opinion:
1) it wouldn't serve the larger community
2) it would be harder to get vendor demos and support, as students aren't
the purchase decision-makers that a lot of vendors look for.
3) it wouldn't expose the students to industry sysadmins that could provide
employment opportunities for the students.

That's where we stand, I'll keep you posted as I know more. Any feedback
and suggestions are welcome.
