You drop the tablet (or the smartphone) on the floor with usb cable
plugged in, so that it lands right where the usb cable is plugged in.
Most of the time, you end up with the cable connector bent, so that you
have to replace the cable (no biggie, unless you buy your USB cables
from retail stores, where they'll charge you $20 or $30 for a cable you
can pick up on eBay for $3).  Sometimes, though, you actually damage the
usb micro socket on the smartphone/tablet, so that you either have to do
something like Chris Fowler's hack or you replace the smartphone/tablet.
