[ale] Video freeze on Ubuntu 15.04

I haven't ruled out RAM failure entirely. I did add 12GB of RAM to bring it to 16GB. When I run the 3.19.0-28-generic kernel, it doesn't freezer the video.  When I run the newer 3.19.0-29-generic kernel, it freezes. 
I am going to test against the newest kernel (got an update yesterday) and see what happens. 
The lag makes me feel like it might be a cooling problem. Maybe the new kernel version is running the processor harder?
