It is tough when you are a small company (less than F-50 size) and try to
encourage vendors to support standard things. Threatening to withhold a sale
usually don't get very far or the salesman will sign anything even though he
doesn't have any authority.
Even large organizations which do apply leverage to support quarterly patches
usually have to agree to a 2-yr mitigation strategy.
