Hello,
While attempting an update of my Ubuntu system (apt-get update) I
encountered this pgp error:
W: GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net trusty Release: The
following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not
available: NO_PUBKEY 90BD7EACED8E640A
Researching this I determined that I can "go get" the public key with this:
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver ppa.launchpad.net --recv-keys
90BD7EACED8E640A
Here's the full output of that command
Executing: gpg --ignore-time-conflict --no-options
--no-default-keyring --homedir /tmp/tmp.PijqRBl7dW
--no-auto-check-trustdb --trust-model always --keyring
/etc/apt/trusted.gpg --primary-keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg --keyring
/etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/ubuntu-mate-dev-ppa.gpg --keyring
/etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/ubuntu-mate-dev-trusty-mate.gpg --keyserver
ppa.launchpad.net --recv-keys 90BD7EACED8E640A
But only resulted in this. Timeout took 1 min
gpg: requesting key ED8E640A from hkp server ppa.launchpad.net
gpg: keyserver timed out
gpg: keyserver receive failed: keyserver error
In case I had the key server wrong, I also tried keyserver.launchpad.net
apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.launchpad.net --recv-keys 90BD7EACED8E640A
resulting in:
keyserver.launchpad.net: Host not found
gpgkeys: HTTP fetch error 7: couldn't connect: No such file or
directory
gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found.
gpg: Total number processed: 0
Any suggestions on were to go next to get the public key?
Thanks,
Greg
I find it rather odd that launchpad would time out.
