I also recommend using Tomcat on top of Java 1.8 if you can. Possibly even
Tomcat 8. With Java 1.8 you don't have to worry about PermGen exhausted
errors taking out your whole Tomcat instance. The PermGen is completely
gone in Java 1.8 [1]. You can set a maximum Metaspace, but I don't
recommend that as it'll just put you right back in the PermGen exhaustion
situation.
