I do. t-mobile pay-as-you-go plan.
$10/yr Cell Plan: http://blog.jdpfu.com/2013/10/02/10-cell-plan-continues
and
No Data Apps: http://blog.jdpfu.com/2013/04/07/no-data-required-android-travel-apps
When I am on travel in the USA I might pay t-mobile $2/day for unlimited
everything for a few days. It is convenient when out of town to have access.
When in town, I don't see the need for data - or I'll pay $2 for 1 day of it ad hoc.
Walmart sells a $49 Android smartphone - don't know if it needs a plan or not.
