Not sure I understand. I haven't run into any (lately) that were Linux
un-friendly. I run into a few support noobs that don't know how to
speel leenoocks but none that are really anti-linux. Just don't expect
them to hold your hand while you try and figure out how to install
Gentoo on your PC.
I'm with AT&T UVerse and my son, Scott, is with Comcast. AT&T pissed me
off the other day when protocol 41 (IPv6) stopped working after a
gateway update but I think that's because they're preparing to support
IPv6 natively (What was that? The sound of Jingle Bells in Hell???).
So I just had to encrypt the tunnel. The technician I talked to even
mentioned that my RG (Residential Gateway) was out of day and shipped me
a new one. No big deal. Nothing to do with Linux. Both are completely
Linux compatible.
My brother, Steve, is with Charter. He hasn't had any problems with
Charter and Linux.
In fact, I haven't heard of anyone really having any real "problems"
with a particlular ISP and Linux other than they are not going to
provide Linux technical support.
You say "affordable". You don't define what "affordable" is or where
you are talking. You want "cheap" and "fast", try Europe. What I have
and Scott has is affordable by either of us. Your mileage may vary.
