[ale] OpenSSL Broken, Upgrade Now

Actually that is true for the upstream.

But for RHEL6.5 and greater it is still an openssl-1.0.1e but with RHEL's extended versioning:
openssl.x86_64 1.0.1e-16.el6_5.7 @rhel-x86_64-server-6
Available Packages
openssl.i686 1.0.1e-16.el6_5.7 rhel-x86_64-server-6

For Fedora (which the fc below seems to indicate he is using) it MIGHT be that they have a 1.0.1e with extended versioning that is patched. He would have to check. The Fedora method of updates is much more aggressive than RHEL one and I thought it included updating to later upstream versions rather than just relying on backport of bug/security fixes.

If he last updated openssl before last week's general announcement it seems likely it doesn't have the patched version yet but again he'd have to check what Fedora says.

You can see what's installed and available on both RHEL and Fedora by typing "yum list openssl" as I did above.
