Hey everyone...
I have a number of Pentium 4 systems that I need to find a home for. I routinely buy/receive older desktops, reload them, and resell them for a small profit. Usually that means a base install of Windows, LibreOffice, Firefox, Avast, and all the usual multimedia stuff such as iTunes, Quicktime, etc..
I would much prefer to be putting out Linux desktops than Windows ones, but the path of least resistance is to just give people what they are used to...sigh.
Anyway, I now have a large number of older Pentium 4 systems stacked in my house that I need to find a home for. I was wondering if anyone on the list was interested? They would be great for Linux systems (I'm using a couple of them for tinkering/hobby work now with OpenSUSE).
I'm going to be coming over to Atlanta for a week-long stay the 22nd-27th of this month, and I could load 'em up and bring 'em over if anyone is interested in meeting to get them then.
Here are the details - all are computer-only, no monitor, mouse, or keyboard:
Dell Dimension 2350 mini-towers
Pentium 4 CPU
1GB of RAM
30GB hard drive
CDRW drive (some may have DVD drives, will have to check)
$40.00 each
Dell Dimension 3000 mini-towers
Slightly faster Pentium 4 CPU
1GB of RAM
80GB hard drive
CDRW drive (some may have DVD drives, will have to check)
$50.00 each
Prices negotiable/open to trade.
I only have three of the 2350s left, but I have a LOT of the 3000s. They all came with a Windows XP Pro license, and they all have a fully updated install of XP Pro, with LibreOffice, Firefox, etc… that could be used or overwritten with your Linux install.
I would be happy to load OpenSUSE on there for you beforehand, if you don't want the evil of Microsoft to be seen by your eyes…lol
