How many physical cores are in the server? If you are giving a guest more vcpus than actual cores, I could see that not working.

Subject: [ale] Speaking of RHEL on HyperV - 64 processors anyone?

We just tried to install a RHEL 6.4 guest with 64 virtual processors and it panic’ed on install. We found it wouldn’t install until we lowered it to 16 virtual processors. Documentation suggests you can have 64 on RHEL 6.4 without adding Integration Services because it is built in.

Anyone seen this and if so did you find a work around?

We did try installing with 16 then upping to 64 after the fact (and also various others from 18 up) but it always panics on more than 16.
