[ale] OT if you must use windows, upgrade to windows 7, not 8, within a year

remember the old computer desks for schools that had the crt below the desk
and the desktop was glass? Yeah. It was a constant pain in the neck. Humans
aren't built to look at the table top all day.

OK. we're not built to look at a computer all day either but...
