When I was a kid, my Dad had a '54 Buick that sometimes ran real rough 
for no apparent reason.  Finally he realized that every time he filled 
up at a Phillips 66 station it would start acting up.  We had three 
stations in town and it happened at all of them.  No other cars in the 
family (we had three) behaved that way.
