[ale] Grub2 in May or June

Compared to what?

To me Linux is a young whipper-snapper compared to UNIX. Heck even DOS came after UNIX.

Anyway some things still use LILO so far as I know - thankfully I don't work on anything that uses it by default.

RH 9 (and even 7.3) was still here when I started 7 years ago and I don't think I was able to retire the last of those until 2-3 years ago. It amazes me that even to this day I'll see people asking questions on other forums about RH 9. I do typically categorize RHEL3 and before as "ancient" in responses to posters asking about them. They still had the 2.4 kernel. Even RHEL4 went EOL at the end of February this year and RHEL6 has been out for more than a year.

LILO was an option on RedHat 9 - 10 years ago. Is that ancient?
