Just to let everyone know, my domesticate boss, (aka wife or
significant other) laid claim to the Nook that I had won at the
meeting. As I wound up in the proverbial dog house due to some other
actions on my part, so I didn't feel that at the time it was safe to
challenge her claim of ownership. As a result my being able to crack
it or root it is not going to happen in the very near future. Note I
said near future, I'm known as a very persistent SOB and a stubborn
jacka$$ in my family, so it may very well happen in the future, just
can't say precisely when.

Now as far as our opinion of it. The boss is thrilled with it and is
enjoying exploring it. I find the screen to be a bit ultra sensitive
for me, but then I don't do well with laptop touchpads either. There
were a couple of things that didn't seem intuitive or at least not the
way I'm used to doing on Linux desktop. I guess this old dog will have
to learn a few new tricks. I am impressed with the clarity of the
screen, but am slower than *hit use the touch keyboard, and I'm slow
on a real keyboard.

I had mentioned on another thread about a project that is based on
OpenHardware design and OSS. The OS is a fork from MeeGo or based on
MeeGo, and I was talking to Mike W. about it at the post meeting,
meeting at Melton's. So Mike W. here is the link
http://makeplaylive.com/. It is a tablet originally called Spark, but
they had to change the name to Vivaldi.
