[ale] 5.1 sound card recommendations

My computer at some point in the past week or two suffered some sort of
catastrophic event that has left my onboard IntelHDA sound board capable
of just about nothing.

Anyone have any recommendations for a 5.1 channel sound card that (a)
isn't terribly expensive and (b) works well with ALSA?
