[ale] Preventing Atrix/android from converting embedded number to a link

The problem, for me, with your question is that when I replied from my
Atrix, the mailing list archive did not show the munged effect you
describe. I doubt any of us can help you fix it if we can reproduce
it. Maybe send me one of the actual emails off list?
