[ale] copying data between 2 ubuntu vm's

Friends:

I have a VM1 which is 23GB with 2GB of swap.

I have another VM2 which is 21GB with 2GB of swap.

What is the best and efficient way of copying the data from VM2 to VM1 ?

Time is not a factor but reliably copy is.
