DroidX suddenly lost access to SD card. Rebooted after reseating card and
phone says SD card is blank. I attempted to access the card via a USB SD
card reader on my Ubuntu 10.04 system. The kernel tells me a bunch of SCSI
messages I've put below. However, my question is when trying to use dd or
ddrescue to access the device I get these messages:

dd_rescue: (fatal): open "/dev/sdc" failed: No medium found

dd: opening `/dev/sdc': No medium found

So here are the kernel messages when the SD card is sensed:
May 20 12:07:58 arwen kernel: [172595.490118] usb 1-4.3: new high speed USB

Does this mean that the card's circuitry is damaged? I just want to recover
an image of whatever data is on the flash card. It is a 16GB card with some
photos, applications, and videos. I had downloaded most of the photos but
don't have the last month or so. Recorded some video from two different
concerts I went to that I wanted to save. A bit frustrated that dd won't
access the card. Google search isn't giving me much info on how to know
when a card is truly inaccessible.

Best wishes,
Dow Hurst
