[ale] lots of patches on Ubuntu today

I am using 10.04 and had three update patches.  It probably depends a 
lot on what software you have installed.  I have a bunch of things 
including gnome shell (The gui is itself a shell, or at least some 
people call it that) the KDE shell and 12 development IDEs.
