Hello everyone.
My name is Joshua Roberts. I have been a part of ALE for
close to 2 years now. Through my contacts at ALE I have
been able to start affiliated LUGs at 2 post secondary
institutions here in GA, Lanier Technical College and
Southern Polytechnic State University. Currently I am
trying to find ways to revitalize the SPSU LUG through
a stronger ALE presence.
The Goal:
Re-establish the ALE NW meeting utilizing the
facilities and support of the SPSU campus.
The ALE-NW Team needs your help. We are seeking a few volunteers to
help organize, plan and share the load. Let us know how you'd like to help.
We have:
Faculty sponsor Dr. Karam. myself and other involved
students to facilitate room scheduling on the SPSU
campus and to promote Student involvement
by building on the growing interest in Linux at SPSU.
We are seeking:
*Organizers/Logistics/Planners
*Speakers (beginning, intermediate, expert level): Short 15 minute or
longer presentations needed.
** Show and Tell (for when you just solved something really cool)
* Panel members for group discussions
It is easy to see how an active ALE NW meeting
involving SPSU faculty, facilities and students would
be a very valuable resource for both organizations,
as well as for the Linux community at large.
As it stands the needed venue access, volunteer
support and community interest for a reinvigorated
ALE NW meeting has been established within SPSU.
We hope that everyone reading this will consider being one
of those ALE volunteers. We welcome any support or suggestions you may
have to offer.
Please contact Joshua Roberts (jrobert3 at spsu dot edu) if you have
an hour or two each month to
help out. Can you help?
Thank you
Joshua Roberts
