Here's what I'm finding:
*Processor*
*Vendor*
*Model*
*Speed:*
*Cache*
AMD
K6-2
380 MHz
64 K
*Memory*
*System Memory*
*Expansion Board*
*Total Memory*
*Standard*
*Optional*
64 MB
128 MB
192 MB
*Hard Drive*
*Vendor*
*Model*
*Size*
*Buffer*
*Speed*
*Interface*
Hitachi
DK228A-65
6.4 GB
512 KB
4200 RPM
ATA4 (Ultra DMA 2)
As long as all the hardware is still supported in the kernel, this *can*
run Gentoo with contemporary everything but there will be pain with all
but the most lightweight UIs. Distcc (cross-compiling for i586) with
localhost out of the node list would be nice; building on another system
would be especially nice. Warning, warning, danger, danger: there are
points in "emerge gcc" that have a big RAM footprint; if you ever hope
to do that on the laptop itself, it will need a gig of swap and it will
take a long, long time.
Having said all this, this looks attractive as a thin client and little
else! :)
