[ale] need help installing QT dev environment on Ubuntu and Fedora

Brian,

I'm forwarding this to Rich, although he's active on the list too.  I
think he's converting one laptop to Ubuntu to work with me, which I
didn't know when I made the request.  However, if we use Fedora, I'm
sure we'll use your tips.  Thanks for the note.

(PS - If you email me and don't get a quick response, you might want to
call on the phone.  I get about 300 emails per day from alternate energy
