I can't say how most email servers are currently configured by default, but
when I set it up years ago it wasn't part of the standard apt-get install
mail server and it works... Did you set it up to use TLS?
Your trausch.us is hosted at Google so how would you check the logs there?
A quick grep through my logs shows it is working...

R=dnslookup T=remote_smtp H=gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com [74.125.91.27]
X=TLS1.0:RSA_ARCFOUR_MD5:16 DN="C=US,ST=California,L=Mountain View,O=Google
Inc,CN=mx.google.com"
I could show you more, but I wouldn't be a very good admin if I start
publishing other people's personal info without prior permission.
