[ale] [OT] LTSP issue

Ok, this is a challenge I need help with.

I currently have an LTSP environment on Ubuntu 9.10 setup at my church.

Old PIIs and PIIIs boot fine off of LTSP on 9.10 server.
However, they ALL fail when booting from LTSP on 10.10.
NEWER Clients - P4 and newer w/onboard NICs boot just fine off of BOTH 9.10
and 10.10.

I have noticed that the old clients DO NOT even "see" the dhcp server (do
not become active with a green light) from the 10.10.
Unplugging the cable from the old client nic and plugging into the newer
client's nic and... "voilla", LTSP boots perfectly.
<stupid question starts> :-)
Was there any changes with the DHCP/PXE protocols on 10.10 ?
If so, would that prevent old nics from "seeing" the DHCP server on the LTSP
box?
<stupid question ends> :-)

Please note that the LTSP installations are on 02 different test servers:
LTSP 9.10 is on a old IBM eserver 325 (two network cards).
LTSP 10.10 is on a old Compaq Proliant DL380 (two network cards).

Could it be something linked to the server's network cards (bios related?)?

The church officials will not allow me to officially deploy it until I have
this issue figured out; budget is tight and, for now, upgrade to real thin
clients and/or newer PCs is not an option.

Thanks

Sergio
