I'd surmise that one temp is being taken on the board close to the edge 
and that the other is being taken inside the enclosure...but >100C 
sounds a little oddly high but maybe that's normal for a very limited 
area in there.

By the way...

<pedantry>The only way you can say one temperature is "twice" another 
numerically is if you are using Kelvin and not degrees Celsius or 
Fahrenheit.</pedantry>
